Did you know that in October 2003, changes in European legislation means that it is possible to have your car serviced at an independent garage without invalidating your manufacturer's warranty? This legislation is referred in the trade as Block Exemption Regulations.
This legislation changes the way cars may be serviced and repaired and gives you the freedom to choose who should look after you car. Before BER, it was very difficult to have cars, which were still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, serviced anywhere except a franchised dealer.
So now you can use any garage of your choice to service your car without invalidating the manufacturer's warranty and save money (Subject to certain conditions).
